It may not ordinarily be deemed the sexiest game in the arena of gambling, but keno has loads of dedicated supporters. And so it should! It’s a regularly thrilling lotto-ish game that’s easy to master, abundantly available in a number of alternate styles, and one that may return mega-dollars for people who learn its limitless subtle nuances. But let’s begin with the basic rules here.
When explaining keno to amateurs, some wagering masters compare it to bingo. This is at least tolerably correct, in that each game is basically numerical. But to carry that comparison too far will be to underrate the innumerable unique traits that make keno so entertaining. Not like bingo, keno players have the freedom to choose the numbers for every card.
Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the user is accord an increased level of personal responsibility by being able to choose as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she feels they need. And it doesn’t take a super genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your picked numbers with a ordinary#2 pencil like you had when you were in third grade.
Once you have selected your numbers, carry the game card back to the girl at the keno stand. The girl will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your mug and wants help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will be given exactly $.00 for your winning card.
And there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s advance to something a bit more complicated, ok?
After you’ve picked out your numbers, settle into a nice keno booth and see the action take place on a monitor. That is where the winning numbers show up for all to see. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get back to the keno stand to redeem your winnings, as a new keno game will probably start up within 5 minutes.
Strategy number two: always make it back to the keno booth on time!
Assuming you do not trust yourself to make that five-minute margin each time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the very same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from two to twenty cards. When the max number of rounds (matching the number of tickets) is completed, you will then be able to get off your lazy rump and go get your winnings.
Still another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno card, which usually lets you make number choices for thirty keno games or more. Heck, you can take a world tour and not have to fret about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!
So now you are aware of a few indispensable strategies for winning keno. If you are an accomplished keno player, they might seem very obvious. But it doesn’t hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a new user, every little bit of information will help make your keno wagering more fun.
