It won’t ordinarily be considered the best game in the universe of betting, but keno has millions and millions of passionate fans. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a regularly entertaining lottery-esque game that’s simple to learn, abundantly available in a number of different variations, and one that can pay out millions for people who learn its endless subtle rules. But let’s deal with the basic rules for now.

When describing keno to amateurs, some gambling experts compare it to lotto. This is at least in part correct, in that both games are basically numerical. However, to take that comparison too far will be to underestimate the great many unique characteristics that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno users have the freedom to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the player is granted an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to determine as numerous (or as few) numbers as she wants. And it doesn’t take a genius to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your picked numbers with a good oldmarker like you used when you were in third grade.

Once you have picked your numbers, take your keno card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) lucrative piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your pretty face and would like to help out, without a winning ticket on you, you will get exactly $.00 for your actions.

So, there you have strategy #1: always make sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s move on to something a tiny bit more advanced, shall we?

Now that you’ve picked your numbers, get into a comfy keno booth and watch the action take place on the monitor. That is where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you selected winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Be sure not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You really want to get up to the keno stand to collect your winnings, and then a new drawing will certainly start up within five minutes.

Strategy number two: always make it back to the keno stand on time!

Since you do not trust yourself to meet that 5 minute deadline each and every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty tickets. When the maximum number of games (the same as the amount of tickets) is finished, you can then get off your lazy rump and go get your winnings.

Yet another opportunity is known as a "stray and play" keno slip, which generally lets you make number choices for 30 keno games or more. Heck, you can take vacation to France and not have to worry about getting back in time to redeem your winnings. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

So now you are aware of a number of required methods for winning keno. If you are a discerning player, they might appear to be incredibly obvious. But it won’t hurt to study up on the basic methods, and if you are a beginner user, every bit of direction will help make your keno betting more entertaining.
