Keno’s History

Keno was first played in 200 BC by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a way to finance his failing army. The city of Cheung was waging a battle, and after a bit of war time seemed to be looking at a national famine with the excessive drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to come up with a fast response for the economic adversity and to produce money for his forces. He thusly developed the game we know today as keno and it was a wonderful success.
Keno used to be referred to as the White Pigeon Game, due to the fact that the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the smaller towns. The lottery ‘Keno’ was imported to the United States in the 19th century by Chinese expatriates who came to the States for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.
Today, Keno is most often enjoyed with just 80 numbers in a majority of the US land based casinos as well as web casinos. Keno is largely liked today as a result of the laid back nature of playing the game and the basic reality that there are little skills required to enjoy Keno. Regardless of the fact that the odds of coming away with a win are appalling, there is always the hope that you might hit quite big with a tiny gambling investment.
Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers and twenty numbers are selected each round. Gamblers of Keno can select from 2 to 10 numbers and gamble on them, whatever amount they are able to. The payout of Keno is according to the wagers made and the matching of numbers.
Keno grew in universal appeal in the United States near the end of the 19th century when the Chinese characters were replaced with , US numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the legalization of gaming in the state of Nevada in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos altered the name of the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the idea that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to come in. When a law passed that taxed off track betting, the casinos quickly adjusted the name to ‘Keno’.
