It won’t ordinarily be looked at as the sexiest game in the universe of gambling, but keno has millions and millions of passionate followers. And so it should! It’s a constantly entertaining lottery-ish game that’s a breeze to learn, readily available in many assorted formats, and one that will return mega-dollars for players who learn its numerous subtle nuances. But let’s deal with the basics for now.

When defining keno to newcomers, some gambling masters compare it to bingo. This is at least to a certain degree correct, in that both games are basically numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far might be to detract from the great many unique aspect that make keno so fun. Not like bingo, keno gamblers have the power to select the numbers for each card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the player is furnished with an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as numerous (or as few) numbers as he or she desires. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your picked numbers with a ordinarypen like you had when you were a kid.

Now that you’ve selected your numbers, carry the keno card back to the girl at the keno stand. The girl will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t lose this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your face and wants help out, without a winning slip with you, you will get precisely $.00 for your time spent.

And there you have strategy #1: always be sure to keep your keno receipt. Let’s advance to something a tiny bit more complicated, ok?

Now that you’ve checked off your numbers, settle into a comfortable keno booth and observe the action unfold on the video monitor. This is where the winning numbers are shown for all to see. If you selected winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to dally, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get back to the keno booth to get your winnings, and a new round of keno will almost certainly get going within not too many minutes.

Strategy number 2: always be sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Since you can’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty cards. When the max amount of games (matching the amount of tickets) is completed, you will then be able to get off your numb rump and go get your winnings.

Still another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which generally allows you make number selection for 30 rounds or more. Heck, you can take a Swedish massage and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to get your winnings. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!

And now you are aware of a number of necessary strategies for winning keno. If you are a good keno player, they may appear to be stupidly obvious. However, it does not hurt to brush up on the fundamentals, and if you are a newbie keno player, every tiny bit of advice will help make your keno gambling more captivating.
