It won’t ordinarily be looked at as the sexiest game in the universe of wagering, but keno has millions and millions of devoted fans. As well it should! It’s a regularly thrilling lotto-ish game that’s uncomplicated to play, readily available in several alternate styles, and one that can pay out millions of dollars for people who learn its limitless subtle rules. But let’s deal with the beginner’s rules for now.

When describing keno to novices, some wagering pros compare it to bingo. This is at least to a certain degree apt, in that both games are essentially numerical. Ok, there you have strategy numero uno: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let’s advance to something a little bit more complicated, what do you think?

Once you’ve picked your numbers, get into a comfortable keno booth and see the action happen on the video monitor. That’s where the winning numbers show up for us. If you’ve got winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Make sure not to move to slowly, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to collect your winnings, and then a new keno game will likely begin within five minutes.

Strategy #2: always be sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you do not trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline each time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty tickets. When the maximum amount of keno games (fitting the number of tickets) is played, you will then be able to get off your lazy bum and go retrieve your winnings.

Yet an additional choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally lets you make number choices for 30 games or more. Golly, you can take an ocean cruise and not have to worry about getting back in time to collect your winnings. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!
