It will not ordinarily be seen as the most lucrative game in the arena of wagering, but keno has millions of steadfast enthusiasts. And so it should! It’s a constantly exciting lottery-style game that’s a breeze to learn, abundantly available in tons of alternate styles, and one that may yield millions for players who learn its heaps of subtle rules. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules here.

When describing keno to newbies, some wagering experts compare it to bingo. This is at least partly correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the gambler is furnished with an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as many (or as few) numbers as she desires. And it doesn’t take a doctor of keno to determine how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your selected numbers with a good oldpen like you used when you were in school.

Once you’ve checked your numbers, take your card back to the clerk at the keno booth. The keno pit manager will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) lucrative piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and would like to help out, without a winning slip with you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your efforts.

OK, so there you have strategy numero uno: always be sure to keep your keno ticket. Let us advance to something a little more useful, yes?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get yourself into a comfy keno booth and watch the action happen on the monitor. That is where the winning numbers are shown for us. If you checked winning numbers, mark your card aptly. Sake care not to dally, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You want to get up to the keno booth to get your winnings, and then a new keno game will most likely start up within 5 minutes.

Strategy #2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to meet that five-minute margin every time, you always retain the option of purchasing a "multi-race" card. These include the very same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 tickets. When the max number of rounds (the same as the amount of tickets) is played, you should then get off your numb bum and go get your winnings.

Another alternative is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally allows you make number selection for 30 keno rounds or more. Gosh, you can take a Swedish massage and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you by it!
