It will not generally be looked at as the funnest game in the realm of gaming, but keno has millions of devout players. As well it should! It’s a regularly entertaining lotto-type game that’s a snap to learn, readily available in a number of alternate styles, and one that might pay out mega-dollars for gamblers who master its numerous subtle nuances. But let’s start with the basics for now.

When describing keno to beginners, some wagering masters compare it to bingo. This is at least partly apt, in that each game is essentially numerical. Now that you have selected your numbers, carry your card back to the nice person at the keno stand. The nice person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) valuable piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers you and would like to help out, without a winning slip in hand, you will win precisely $.00 for your efforts.

Now there you have strategy number one: always make sure to keep your keno slip. Let’s advance to something a little more advanced, ok?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and observe the action happen on a monitor. That’s where the winning numbers appear in lights. If you have winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Make sure not to dilly dally, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get back to the keno booth to get your winnings, as a new keno game will almost certainly start within a few minutes.

Strategy number two: always get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you can not trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline each and every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 cards. When the maximum number of games (the same as the amount of tickets) is finished, you are then able to get off your numb rump and go retrieve your winnings.

Yet another option is referred to as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally allows you make number selection for thirty games or more. Golly, you can take a world tour and not have to worry about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after you by it!
